Frequently asked questions
If there's something you'd like to know that's not covered here, please call us
on 020 8503 6000.

Do I need to book before I come to a class?
All our classes are ‘drop-in’, so you can just come along.

Do I need to bring a partner?
You’re very welcome to come to the classes on your own – most people do –
or to bring friends / a partner. During the class we always rotate partners, so
everyone gets to dance with everyone else, as this is the best way to learn.

How do I pay?
You can either buy pre-pay / membership online (which makes the classes
much cheaper) or you can pay for each lesson in cash on the evening. You
can also pay cash for pre-pay / membership. Unfortunately we’re not able to
take credit cards at the lesson.

Do you do student discount?
Yes, if you're studying full-time (you'll need to show proof). Please contact us
for details.

What do I wear?
Most people dress casually for our lessons (and some people dress up a little
bit more for our milonga on Fridays). Just wear something comfortable that
you can move about in easily. Shoes need to have a smooth sole so you can
turn easily (trainers will make it more difficult). For women, it’s easier to have
shoes with a small heel and they definitely need to stay firmly on the foot – flip-
flops won’t work!

I’m a complete beginner, which day is best for me?
There's a dedicated lesson for beginners on Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday
covering the basics step-by-step to build your confidence.
Our Monday class
focuses on technique, so if you've done other dances you might enjoy this
class as you'll
partner students who are more experienced.

I’ve done tango before, how will I know which is the best class for me?
If you arrive a few minutes earlier for the class, one of the teachers will dance
with you and advise you which class will be best.

If I buy pre-pay units, does an ‘evening’ cover 2 hours of lessons?
Yes, on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays the pre-pay covers both hours.
On Fridays it includes 1 hour class plus social dancing and a buffet.

I’m not able to come to the same class every week, does that matter?
We have lessons on four nights, so you can easily change the day you come.
Each teacher will find out what you already know so you can build on this and
learn something new.
